LBMS China Program 2nd Cohort Graduate

Inspirees Institute of China is proud to announce the Final Project Presentations of the second cohort of graduates in movement analysis. This LIMS Laban/Bartenieff Movement System satellite program was coordinated and taught by Karen Studd and Catherine Maguire supported with Mandarin translation by CMA Yan Katee Shen, who is a graduate of the first cohort here in China.


The project presentations include the following:

  • Space: A Bridge Between Inner and Outer Roles by Wen Zhou.

An in-depth exploration of mother daughter interaction through movement.

  • Movement Analysis of the Seven Kellerkinder characterizations used in Galli Drama Therapy based on the Laban/Bartenieff Movement System by Tinting Huang .

This project used LBMS to expand, understand and embody Galli Drama Therapy’s seven-character patterns.

  • Touching and Being Touched by the Charming Mystery of the Dynamosphere through Embodied Eyes of LBMS by Tinting Song.

An embodied approach in using photography to reveal the Dynamosphere of Home.

  • Why Loong? A Cultural Interpretation of the Chinese Loong Dance from the perspective of the Laban/Bartenieff Movement System by Zhiwei Jing.

An analysis of iconic Chinese Dragon dances from three different expressions of this tradition.

  • Shaped by LBMS – using the Laban/Bartenieff Movement System to Improve Consulting Skills by Xue Fei.

This project use LBMS to design support and interventions for both the therapist and the client working in interaction.

  • How the Laban/Bartenieff Movement System can support children to explore space through creative dance by Feng Wu.

This is a pedagogical application of using LBMS in the context of working with  young children.

  • Nuo Dance Qing Jiang: LBMS Movement analysis and Creative Practice by Qiong Li.

This project used LBMS to connect a traditional Chinese Dance folk form to develop a contemporary interpretation of its essence and significance.

  • Personal Process of Breathing – from being “wrong” to acceptance and transformation by Na Zhou

This is an in depth exploration of personal pattern using LBMS in understanding and connecting with oneself.
